Summer 2004

Summer 2004

Steve Dalachinsky

for d.p.

we met in a meadow of books
parted like the pages of sunset
i said "cafe society " is a manner
i'll never get
you said
"for 5 bucks i'll show it to you"

you breathed the letters into my skull
as the scene changed hourly
showed me how the long line
fit into the narrowest of pages

for an instant
the line
seems end

for an eternity
it is all too

Steve Dalachinsky was born in Brooklyn resides in Manhattan (35 years). His latest work is Trial and Error in Paris (Loudmouth Collective). Forthcoming Trust Fund Babies (Pitchfork Press)
