you said
not there
said
not this
your tongue tied
up in knots
the sheets too
under one knee
you ever think
i could have stayed away
finger-
tip to tip
babyface
pin lip
gone white
black tie red rose
rustling you
closing the
night out
no - opening it up
only thing
between you and me
is this hot sauce
milk, and a sugar shaker
so which is it going to be
honey i'm as real as
stainless steel
and easier to clean
utensils for love in the nineties
should be so sterile
should be so sweet
some women earn love
others deserve it
i have learned
better than to live
with angry men
letting them humiliate me
again and again
that's
the way
daddy
used to
i stuck a feather
into your hair
the way the do
on tv
and seen
how you turned
indian
not like
some squaw
not you
you were
jumping around
like a painted warrior
full of mohawk spirits
they surrounded
your bed
and us hiding on it
circle the wagons!
i could barely breathe
from laughing
from fear
from desire
then you were my indian brave
i let you creep into my teepee
