FALL/WINTER 2012

Carol Hamilton

PASSING THROUGH

Chinese white, bad fortune.
All the waiting faces
hidden behind trees, the roots
gnarled under leaf blankets
and mold along the trail.
                Pale faces,
                                too light sky,
                                                the only path.
