FALL 2007

Diane Frank

BY A FARM HOUSE IN CORVALLIS

His hand is like a hummingbird
difficult to see or freeze frame
at each end of a wide vibrato

Violin music floating
through a wind tunnel.

We kiss in a hot spring
love each other under the open sky
in shoulder high water,
his eyes radiant as the wings
of a blue heron.

We swim inside
swan light, sky ballet
lifting through the aurora

Eggshell blue notes, crazy happy,
stolen time.
