FIFTY FOOT HORIZONS

I live in a world with
50 foot horizons.
Man’s work rises,
Truncating all sight lines.
The Sun never sets here,
It just kinda ducks down.

But in the Arizona desert,
I watched rain fall miles away
From a single distant cloud,

And gazed entranced as
the Moon arose
From land,
Not a neighbor's garage.
