TELEVISION |
The same mass-media
that links me to the fine arts,
ballets, symphonies, Broadway plays
in New York City, in my living room,
a Caile in Ireland, bicycle race in France,
horse racing, car racing, hearts racing,
Olympics on the other side of the globe,
antiques worth fortunes in attics, storage closets,
renditions of old novels
I’ll never have time to read,
makes me feel guilty – to have so much,
when the same source of information,
in color, surround sound,
floods my living room
with the cries of children
who live with so little,
no television, to see
it’s all wrong.
