FALL/ WINTER 2014

HEALTH CARE PROXY BLUES

Instead of sitting in the hospital
I go home and rake the leaves that fell last autumn
It’s near the end of spring…summer coming on
and lots to do. It feels good stretching in fresh air

There’re some things we could talk about ways to smooth
the inevitable drift up river or out to sea – por favor!
You can trust me to handle the “sons of bitches”

The fallen leaves, wrinkled and dried to crispy
lace, get cleared so the next garden can grow
