Make her
burn the milagros and the copper witch's charm
Remind her he is Og the Leprechaun and Mack the Knife
Place her shoes pointing toward the door and paint it blue
Let us help her reckon the many thou-shalt-nots
Walk her through fields of riffling scarlet poppies
Whip her with his sly evasions and his dull silence
Show her once more his compass has no needle
Let us tell her again a wanderer will always wander
Then if she still craves danger she can join the circus
Even a wire without a net would be less dangerous
