She lives for the
unseen,
For the brittle muse in the night sky,
For the dangerous flight of day,
But she aches to live large
With saffron tunic and silver bow.
She wants to scale the tower,
Shun its spiral of granite steps
And grapple upwards stone by stone
From light toward a dark new
Vanishing point.
Only the curious or the damaged
Will climb high for the sake
Of climbing - or a falcon, hooded eyes
Desperate for the flick of life,
Promise of blood. |
