quite cool at 9
   at night, and Abby
fans herself in 3
   with a green
ostrich plume,
   and she sings
“Darn that Dream,”
   her high icy
cry like cubes
in whiskey, like

worship the window unit
right when you arrive
   shirt off, hands
on either side.
